Maude is a modern intimacy brand with a mission to revolutionize the sexual wellness product industry, prioritizing gender, age, and inclusivity.

As a Project Management Consultant (2018-2019), I became involved in the small startup operation, collaborating closely with the Chief Product Officer and Chief Executive Officer to implement project management processes from the ground up, and helping improve order processing capabilities and customer experience operations.

implementing project management Workflows

I implemented Asana-based project management workflows, enabling the team of designers and technologists to launch the first core line of products. Through a use of team- and target-oriented lists and a Kanban board, I facilitated sprint-based planning and stand-ups to ensure tasks and deliverables were being completed on-time for the launches, taking full advantage of Asana’s celebration creatures.

Streamlining order & Shipping Operations

Supporting the operations team, I helped analyze order fulfillment and customer experience data, implementing improved Shopify-workflows to scale our backend order processing capabilities. We scaled our order processing capabilities so quickly, enabling the company to move from a small studio space in Greenpoint to a large warehouse in Williamsburg.

Additionally, I became adept in our customer experience workflows, creating series of informative/canned responses and templates, improving the quality of responses and response time for customer inquiries.

supporting product Ideation & Design

I collaborated closely with the Chief Product Officer to ideate and launch new products to the line, as well as create all product specification documentation. See the case studies below for the physical and digital products I helped bring to fruition.

Case Studies

MAssage oil candle

Supporting the CPO, I was involved in the ideation (defining core ingredients) and the design of the massage oil candle, Burn. I coordinated with the initial supplier, Joya Studio, to produce initial prototypes and the first mass-scale order of the production-ready product.

product bundles

I worked closely with the operations and development teams to implement product bundle offerings, coordinating the design of new product packaging, shipping options, and the websites customer-facing and backend functionality.

travel size products

To expand the line of core products, the CPO tasked me with ideating travel size options for our Shine personal lubricant and Rise condoms. Taking inspiration from the existing products, I ideated and designed smaller versions of both products.

website redesign

I supported our team of designers and developers in the design, development, and testing of an updated website—with a revised focus on large and inclusive images, updated branding, and new site content.
